Ways to arrive and get back
The return trip needs as much planning as the journey out.
By metro
Take Metro Line 9 to Huaqingchi Station and leave through Exit C. The walk to the theatre is about three minutes.
This works well for the first and second shows. Check the last train time before you travel.
By car
Set your navigation to Huaqing Palace, 38 Huaqing Road, Lintong, Xi'an. The venue has parking, but spaces fill up on busy evenings.
Allow extra time on public holidays and check any local driving restrictions before you set off.
By bus
City buses and daytime tourist shuttles serve the Huaqingchi stop near the palace.
Shuttle services run mainly in the daytime, so confirm the last bus if you plan to return this way.
Returning after a late show
By the time the late shows finish, Metro Line 9 has stopped running. Arrange a taxi, a ride-hail car or your own car in advance.
Book or queue for the ride before the show starts; demand spikes right after the show ends.
After the show
Plan the ride home
Late shows, when scheduled, end after the metro has stopped.
This is an independent guide. Transport timetables change, so check current services through official channels before you go.
